Friday Evening: Arrive, Relax, And Sip

After taking a comfortable drive or a domestic flight from Bangkok, you are ready for your new adventure. By arriving late on Friday afternoon, you will be avoiding the heat of the day and yet be in time to catch the golden hour. Take the time to check into your hotel and freshen up. If you’ve not booked a hotel already, you could check out Avani Pattaya Resort, which is centrally located and offers a blend of luxury and nature. After checking in, take a stroll around the area. If you aren’t feeling very adventurous on your first evening in Pattaya, things to do to help that are either to stay in, and explore your resort or ask them to guide you to a chilled place for a quiet drink and to enjoy the sunset.

Saturday: Beaches, Buddhas & Bustling Markets

Morning: Starting with Spiritual Exploration

After a hearty breakfast at your resort of choice, head on to the Sanctuary of Truth, which is one of Pattaya’s most iconic landmarks. This intricately carved teakwood structure is both an architectural marvel and a spiritual haven, combining elements of Buddhist and Hindu philosophies. From there, you could continue the temple trail to Wat Phra Yai, or Big Buddha Hill, which offers panoramic views over Pattaya Bay.

Afternoon: Coasts and Island Hopping

No weekend in Pattaya would be complete without some time in the water. Hop on a short speedboat ride from Bali Hai Pier to Koh Larn (Coral Island), a picturesque escape just 7 kilometres offshore. Most visitors return to the mainland by late afternoon, just in time to freshen up for an evening in the city.

Evening: Market Meandering and Cabaret

Pattaya's nightlife is legendary, but before diving into the entertainment, spend some time exploring the Pattaya Night Bazaar or Thepprasit Night Market. These are ideal for picking up souvenirs, sampling and experiencing the city’s energetic atmosphere. Book a ticket for the Tiffany’s or Alcazar Cabaret Show. These dazzling performances, renowned for their colourful costumes and talented cast, have been long-time favourites among travellers and locals alike.

Sunday: Wellness, Brunch & A Slow Farewell

Morning: Relax and Rejuvenate

A Sunday in Pattaya calls for a slow start and self-care. After breakfast, take advantage of the spa and wellness facilities available at your resort, or ask them to direct you to one. Enjoy massages, steams or any other treatments the spa may provide, as you relax and recover.

Late Morning: Brunch & Beach Views

By late morning, take a final stroll along Pattaya Beach Road or rent a bicycle and follow the coastal paths. You’ll find shaded promenades and breezy cafes to pause and soak in the views. After a stroll, head back to your resort or find a chic cafe to enjoy a late brunch as you get ready to bid farewell to the perfect weekend getaway at Pattaya.
