A holiday in the lovely Maldives is sure to be an enthralling experience that you will want to enjoy more than once in your lifetime! In addition to relaxing on the beach, you will find many interesting things to do here too including an array of captivating water sports. If you happen to visit the Maldives along with your family, there will be many water activities that individuals of all ages may enjoy, as described below.

Go snorkelling

Snorkelling will be a very popular water activity for visitors to the Maldives as it does not require very specialised skills. Older children will be able to join you as you go snorkelling so that you will be able to experience the breathtaking undersea world together. Beneath the shimmering Indian Ocean waters, you will encounter stunning undersea scenery and an entrancing collection of exotic marine creatures. Underneath the waves, you will see different kinds of corals as well as ocean denizens like anemonefish, reef sharks, whale sharks, hawksbill turtles, fusiliers, eagle rays, clown triggerfish and so on. The underwater treasures of the Maldives are sure to captivate the snorkeler.

Try out a Seabob

For an even more adventurous experience, you will have the opportunity to try out a Seabob underwater scooter in the Maldives. A Seabob will enable you to skim along the waters’ surface or venture beneath, if you feel confident, to view the underwater environment of the Maldives. In fact, these islands would be a great locality at which to use a Seabob as the waters are clear and you will be able to explore the intriguing coral reefs which feature an enthralling collection of marine creatures. Beginners will be able to try out a Seabob under the guidance of an experienced instructor; after you gain the needed skill in piloting one of these devices, you will be able to venture forth on your own.

Engage in parasailing

Another not-to-be-missed experience in the Maldives for thrill-seekers would be parasailing. For this activity, the participant is connected to a customised canopy wing which rather resembles a parachute; this is attached to a motorboat / speedboat and as this craft moves along, the rider is transported high into the air. It may be possible for young children to parasail in tandem with their parents too; as you might expect, it will be a breathtaking experience that provides unique sensations and stunning vistas. An accommodation choice to consider from where you could go parasailing and visit the places to see in Maldives as well would be the pleasingly located Adaaran Prestige Vadoo.

Take a crack at flyboarding

For a uniquely thrilling water sport, try out the amazing activity of flyboarding. In flyboarding, the rider will stand atop a board that is attached to a watercraft via a lengthy hose; pressurised water is ejected through boots fitted with jet nozzles worn by the riders, providing thrust that enables them to ascend into the air or descend into the water according to their liking. This will be an exhilarating experience that will delight the adrenaline-seeker. Older children can look to try flyboarding, although it is not suitable for the very young.

Enjoy banana boating

On the other hand, a very simple yet absorbing water sport for the whole family to enjoy in the Maldives would be banana boating. As its name suggests, for this water activity, riders will be strapped onto a vessel shaped rather like a banana, so that they cannot fall off; a powerful motorboat then tows the banana boat, achieving considerable speed and taking sudden twists and turns for the entertainment of the riders. This will be a thrilling and fun experience that will capture the imagination of young and old alike.
