Trying to decide what sort of outfits to pack for a holiday to Spain? There are many factors to consider when it comes to choosing the right clothes and activities. One is how appropriate it is for the weather conditions that are going to be prevalent at the time of year that you visit Spain. Another being what kinds of activities you plan on engaging in. And the final one being, what sort of fashion trends the locals are likely to be following at that time of the year.

What Sports Do you Plan to Do?

One of the things to consider when you're packing for your Spanish escape is the kind of outdoor activities that you plan on indulging in while you're there. For instance, if you plan on staying at accommodation options offered by international hospitality chains such as Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, you're likely to have the chance to engage in a series of activities on the premises. Guests of the Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavis Marbella Resort for example, are invited to enjoy golfing at one of the three courses that surround the property. So, if you envision yourself partaking in a sport such as golf, then you need to make sure that you pack a suitable outfit for the occasion. This will include a golfing shirt, pants or skirt and cap as well as appropriate footwear.

On the other hand, if you plan on indulging in indoor sports such as badminton, for example, make sure to pack appropriate sportswear for that, including non-marking indoor court shoes with rubber soles. It all depends based on what you have planned. And it's always safe to throw in your bag a pair of all-purpose trainers, just to cover anything else that might come up while you're on holiday.

Will You Be Vacationing in Spain in Spring or Summer?

In Spain, the Spring and Summer months tend to be quite warm. So make sure to pack short, lightweight and airy clothing. Many of the locals choose to wear cotton-based fabrics at this time of the year. Women usually tend to opt for cotton pants, skirts, and dresses. Men too often opt for shorter, lighter clothing such as shorts and polo shirts, depending on the occasion.

Also, during this time of year, it's common to hit the beaches. So make sure to pack your beachwear. This includes things like beach towels and your bikinis, swimsuits, or trunks. And don't forget to accessorise and/or stay protected with a pair of flip flops, sunglasses, sunhat, and sunscreen!

Or Will you Be Vacationing During Fall or Winter?

During the colder months of the year, make sure to pack warmer clothing. This includes jeans and pants as well as long-sleeved blouses and shirts as well as jackets, cardigans, and hoodies. In terms of footwear, don't pack sandals or other open-toed shoes. Rather, pack sneakers and boots or dress shoes. In terms of accessories, if you plan to visit Spain during the colder months, make sure you pack a pair or two of gloves as well as several pairs of thick socks to keep you warm and cosy when you head outside.

Also, if you want to be extra safe, and are not sure about what the facilities are going to be like at your chosen accommodation option in terms of heating, make sure to pack a set of thermal underwear. In case the heating is not sufficient for you, thermal underwear can help you stay warm while you're resting in your room or sleeping. And, of course, they can also help you stay warm outdoors - but are only recommended for extra chilly days – as you don't want to end up getting overheated and sweating too much underneath all those layers while you're out and about.
